Our story

SOINILANMÄKI

Soinilanmäki farm is located in the town of Haapala about 12km northeast from Savonlinna centre with good road access. It is located in the middle of fields ontop of the highest hill of the town.

Our family line has farmed here already since 1936. For decades it focused on dairy production. For the last few decades there has been barely any activity on the farm, until since 2017 we have restarted development.

Today we concentrate on sheep and horses. Our sheep are a native Finnish breed, Kainuunharmas. We provide pasture for horses during Summers and in the Summer of 2020 we have a newly built horse arena for our customers.

THE FARMER

I am Tiina, an UAS agrologist (higher UAS 2020). I have a degree in basic agriculture from Ypäjä Equine College and graduated from Horse management (groom) in 2005. Further studies I completed in Häme University of Applied Sciences in Mustiala department and graduated as an agrologist in the year 2011. I have also completed a vocational college degree in Forestry in 2019. At the moment I am studying higher UAS agrologist's degree in Savonia University of Applied Sciences as well as Horse-aided services in Salpaus Further Education.

Since childhood I have greatly enjoyed the countryside and liked to work with animals. Nature, forests and the peace of the countryside are important to me. I value clean and locally produced food. I also want to provide these to you. Feel welcome to visit our farm!
